Creative Writing

Convict Jack

Was launched at the Museum of Australian Democracy (M.A.D.E) on Saturday 22 MarchBook Launch Pub

This is a children’s book ages 10 to 12 outlining the story of a small boy’s voyage on the First Fleet. This book has been well-researched to ensure historical accuracy. Convict Jack is a vigorously told, rollicking tale of the perilous journey of small Jack Dorrington, who is travelling with his convict mother across the sea to the colony of New South Wales in the early nineteenth century. The issues are real, and the story is well-told; children will enjoy reading about Jack’s escapades, and the excitement of his journey to the new world.

At Eureka House we recognise that what people are reading and how they are reading is changing rapidly.

Some cannot contemplate a world without physical books they can turn the pages of and curl up with on a wet afternoon. Others are only too ready to embrace the digital age, taking their reading enjoyment on their electronic devices wherever they are.

Our aim is to encourage and facilitate the translation of creative ideas into print for readers young and old.
This site is for those who wish to travel that path.

People are naturally curious about writing. There are many opinions and perceptions about what makes a good story and you will receive advice from many sides.

The truth is that NOW is a great time to convert your creativity into a story and publish it. Printing is cheaper and publishing e-books is cheaper again.
This website will provide you with all the guidelines you’ll need to take your writing concept from thought to the point where you will have the book in your hand. You just need to: START YOUR WRITING PROJECT HERE
