Professional Presentation

What Others Do

What Others Do

You have now applied rewriting and self-editing techniques to your story. The final step is to present your work in a professional manner. The following method of presentation is acceptable to most publishers.
  • Use A4 good quality white bond paper.
  • 1.5 or double spacing - to allow for editing
  • Title page including:
    • story title
    • author's name
    • approximate number of words
    • bottom right hand corner - full name, address, contact phone, fax or email.
  • Title to appear on every page - centred.
  • Page numbering top right hand corner - do not include title page - and identify authorship by initials, eg 1JD, 2JD, 3JD.
  • Staple all pages, top left hand corner.
  • Use a font no smaller than 12 point size.
  • Do not 'illustrate' your manuscript in any way.
  • When using dialogue, use single parenthesis and indent two spaces.
  • Always keep a copy of any work submitted on disk as well as hard copy.
